Introduction

A. Overview

EMACHE is an association of families committed to home education. A Christian worldview enhances these relationships with love, joy, peace, and forgiveness.

If information on curriculum is needed, leave a message on the information line, at 817-421-1746, in order to be connected to someone to assist you. Many members use a wide variety of materials and are available to answer your questions. The final decision, however, is the responsibility of each individual family.

The majority of scheduled student activities occur on a monthly basis. Current activities include field trips, community outreach and service projects and weekly sports/physical education classes. The scope of activities each year depends on volunteer availability and interest.

Fellowship opportunities include a monthly Mom’s Night Out, a yearly Ice Cream Social, and family fellowships. The EMACHE Thanksgiving Celebration is the most well attended event.

EMACHE is an all-volunteer organization. First-year families are not required to volunteer; however, all other families are required to commit to helping with at least one activity or support position. There is a section on the Membership Application where you can specify how you will serve during the year. EMACHE is continually changing and growing in order to serve home schooling families with ideas and services each year!

B. Organization

All information in this manual is supplemental to the constitution. General job descriptions are listed in the constitution and all additions in this document are a help to further outline the responsibilities and provide consistency in the group.

There are three basic categories of volunteers listed below: 1) The Board Members, consisting of men, naturally assisted by their wives 2) Directors, consisting of husband and wife teams (ideally a board member) and 3) Coordinators and teachers. The positions are to maintain simplicity and to more clearly show the flow of operations within this volunteer, coop group. The intent is to minimize the workload and confusion by having a clear path of responsibility and direction, and giving newcomers a clear sense of what the organization is about and how we operate.

C. Purpose

The purpose of this association is to fulfill the needs of the home school educators by aligning WILLING resources with the desired needs of the association, hence a cooperative. If the resources are not sufficient to meet desired needs, then good judgment must take place on the part of the president, the board and the volunteers to eliminate what is not attainable. All the while, we must maintain a respectable and solid organization, and manage it as good stewards and representatives of God.
